If you've ever spent much time around douglas-fir or similarly sanguinary trees, you've had nasty sticky tree blood all over your hands. To get it off, rub it with cooking oil. Failing that, try dirt (which just covers the sticky part, though if you can manage to rub it off it'll take some sap with it) or hot water (which will make it more sticky but let it rub off more easily).
