Before I could talk, before I could recall a decade I had a place:

front door, back door- TV room
The place my parents were;
where my stuff was.

It never occurred to me it would go away
Although maybe it didn't, since
I was the one who moved, and then lost it by leaving it behind.

You only leave one childhood home
Every house after that is an echo
watered down aftershocks

Poor imitations of the last safe place you had.
