Although the name certainly is not unique, JFK High School in Bellmore, New York is an interesting place to go to school. The school's mascot is the cougar, but it has a better reputation as an academic powerhouse than as a place for athletics. In fact, Newsweek ranked JFK as one of the top 100 high schools in the United States (in terms of the percentage of students taking A.P. courses).

JFK High School is one of five schools in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District. The school's web site is Cougar Online, which is located at http://www.cougaronline.org/ .
