LVMH Group is a conglomerate of luxury goods producers and retailers. It is the most dominant player in the luxury goods industry. Revenues increased to almost $17 billion in 2005. The company has close to 55,000 employees all over the world (2004).

The strong man of the company is Bernard Arnault, who bought one fourth of the company in 1987, and then rose to the CEO spot in 1990. He is pretty much the man behind the company's extraordinary success the last few years, and at age 49, he is good for some $3+ billion.  LMVH even owns 20% of Gucci, one of the biggest rivals in the fashion industry with $1 billion in revenues (1999).
