Matt's traceroute is another, quite excellent, traceroute tool.

Often used to collect information on the state of the network connection used by your machine and a remote host.

mtr is generally found only on Unix systems.

There's a Windows program which performs a similar function to mtr. Sub-O-Tronic is intended as a utility for gamers playing SubSpace so they can diagnose lag, but it's very handy whether or not you play the game.
