My friend Jeremy coined this term. A Monitor Jockey is kind of like a peripheral for your monitor. It can be anything really, just something you place on or near the monitor to add to it's character. For instance, I have a cut-and-paste job which turns out to be Garth Brooks being eaten by a lion, an O'Reilly Linux postcard, an Anti-Racist Action logo, an 8-ball (Billiards, not magic) with a Pepsi cap holding it, a
Lexis-Nexis monitor cleaner, and a shrink-wrapped animal cracker.
