Doing something privately and with interruptions allowed that will be later done with no interruptions, and quite possibly in public.

Just about anything that has to be executed precisely or in real time will benefit from rehearsals, e.g. weddings; spacecraft launches; presentations.

There is the risk that rehearsing takes the fun out of something. That's why we have improvisation.
