A tech stumble is the nickname given to a theatrical production's tech run that isn't going quite as well as it should be. If the cast is misbehaving, or technical things keep going wrong, and the run keeps needing to be stopped, then techies may get the impression that tech run isn't quite the right phrase for the rehearsal. Although not jumping around as much as a tech stagger (which is meant to), a tech stumble is a tech run that isn't quite getting the running part right.
