The MIT Student Information Processing Board (pronounced "sip-bee"), is a volunteer student group which provides many computing services and user assistance. SIPB membership is perpetual, so the Board counts amongst its members many alumni/ae and staff of MIT.

The SIPB was responsible for the www.mit.edu web server for the first several years of its life, until MIT decided it wanted to run the canonical MIT website. The current list of SIPB projects is at http://www.mit.edu/sipb/project-list.html.

SIPB meetings occur every week at 7:30 local time.

Despite Grant's comment above, the SIPB isn't all long-haired freaky people, counting amongst its members several Air Force officers, and many other people who have regular appointments with a barber.
