Sanping Temple is an ancient Buddhist temple located about 50 kilometers away from Zhangzhou City. The Temple was built in 826 AD by the monk Yang Zhongyi. The temple was destroyed by Emperor Wuzong of the Tang Dynasty, only to be rebuilt in 866 at the foot of Dabai Mountain. The temple is quite a tourist attraction today because of its long history, and its 8 beautiful sights, such as Turtle and Snake Peaks, Tiger Crawling Spring, Mao Family Cave, and Longrui Waterfall.
