Designed by: Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen

1987-1988

Medium: aluminum, stainless steel, and paint.

Gift of Frederick R. Weisman in honor of his parents, William and Mary Weisman, 1988. Located in the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden at Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Makes one of the more interesting postcards to come from the state.

The spoonbridge and cherry is an perfect icon of Minneapolis' art culture. Some have suggested that an appropriate counterpart for St. Paul would be the giant fork and potato, to represent how St. Paul folks are more down-to-earth.
