I have to strip books at my job in the library. It basically involves using a very weird 'metal hook' tool and another long flat tool to pull little green strips of plastic through the spine of the book. Ooh, the point is that there's a little magnetic strip on the plastic, and when you get it in the spine, it sticks there, that way you can magnetize books to set off the alarm.
