Excellent second album from angsty london indie-pop kids Hefner. All searing angry vocal lines and spare, almost painful guitar parts, you'll either love or hate this: I love it, principally for the lyrics. Songs like Fat Kelly's Teeth and Every Little Gesture- my favourite tracks - have tremendous power because of the incredible honesty of the songwriter, which goes perfectly with the raw, barely produced sound. Truth, that's the thing: with Hefner you get it in spades. The kind of album where you learn all the words by osmosis. You'll probably like it if you're into stuff like The Smiths. Great cover art.

It is more or less exactly the same in sound and feel as Breaking God's Heart, though their more recent albums have been something of a departure: more electronica-ish.
