Ever since I was a little girl, I've heard things no one else has. I'd be sitting home alone after getting out of school one day, and all of a sudden I could here my brother singing in the bathroom. I'd get up to see what he was singing about, only there was no one there. I'd go back to sitting in the kitchen, reading a book, and I'd hear it again.

There were other instances as well; I'd be trying to sleep, but quiet voices would always be saying my name over and over again. Needless to say, I was too scared to fall asleep for quite some time.

Whenever there is silence, there is noise, no exceptions. When I am home alone, I hear people talking upstairs. I go to see who it could be, but of course no one's there. 'Maybe it was the tv,' I'd think. So I'd go around the house and make sure they were all turned off. But I could still hear people talking.

Over the years, this has caused me to get into the habit of always having background noise when I'm alone. That way, silent noises can't sneak up on me.
