Psychologist Frank Farley added this to personality type to the traditional duo of Type A personality and Type B personality. It is a somewhat informal and subjective descriptor, but is occasionally used in the field of psychology to refer to what is admittedly a common personally type.

Type T personalities are characterized by risk-taking behaviors and the constant seeking of excitement, novelty, and other stimulation. thrill seekers and adventurers are T-type personalities. Type T personalities can be channeled both creatively (through sports, for example) or destructively (generally self-destructively, as dare devils). The label of 'Type T' is not a judgment, it is simply a descriptive term.
