A term used to describe something that is not designed specifically for persons of only one gender. A way of saying it's ok for both males and females to wear or use the item.

For the most part, it is rather useless to describe something as unisex. It's not like applying it to something traditionally used by only one gender will suddenly make large number of people of the other purchase and use it. And if you don't make unisex versions of something, people of the other gender that want to use the item are still going to do so.
