The ancient roman consular road that, starting from
Milan, cuts a northeastern path across northern
Italy through the towns of
Piacenza,
Parma,
Reggio Emilia,
Modena,
Bologna,
Forlì and
Rimini (where the road ends).
Named after the roman consul Marco Emilio Lepido, it transferred the name to the district - Emilia - where most of its length lies.
