Ving Rhames is an amazing actor who, though he hasn't held any major
starring roles, never the less manages to
steal most of the scenes he acts in.
Rhames was born as
Irving Rhames in
New York, New York on
May 12, 1959 and was educated at
the Julliard School, also in
New York. He got the nickname Ving from his
roommate at
SUNY Purchase (where he studied for a short time),
Stanley Tucci.
He is probably best well known for his roles as
Marsellus Wallace in
Pulp Fiction and as
Luther Stickell in
Mission: Impossible and
Mission: Impossible 2.
These two
roles exemplify the type of character that
Ving Rhames is perfect for playing: the
big black guy who you really really don't want to fuck with.

IMDB.
