WPIX is owned by the Tribune Corporation, which also owns the Chicago Tribune newspaper as well as WGN Channel 9 in Chicago, which is also a WB affiliate. At one point in the 1970's and 1980's the station had the moniker "11 Alive". For about 50 years it was the home for New York Yankees baseball (they have since moved to the Fox station in New York) as well as airing countless reruns of The Honeymooners. It also aired a children's show in the 1970's called the Magic Garden which featured two rather attractive ladies as well as a puppet named Sherlock.
