A 1986 football game for the Sega Master System, released on cartridge. Many Master System games contained different code to run on systems from different regions (usually to change the language of the text and the game's name on the title screen), but World Soccer actually contains two significantly different games. The European/US version is horizontally scrolling whereas the Japanese version is vertically scrolling. The simulation itself is fairly basic, with limited AI and a reduced set of rules (no offside for example, IIRC). There were eight national sides to choose from, with Japan being typically (and unrealistically) super-human in skill.
