A quick, deft kayaking stroke used to turn a boat into or out of an eddy. By dropping a blade in tight to the kayak, the paddler can lean on that blade and get the kayak out of the water, turning the kayak around the blade. From the outside perspective it looks something like the stroke which would most effectively splash water all over the bow of the boat.
