coined by the
MIT chapter if
TEP in the early 1980's.
Brothers would cause an eitful thing to happen (knock things out of someone's hand; cause
bodily harm), and exclaim, "Eit!"
It has been observed that the sound of objects falling in Mad Magazine is also "Eit!"
"Eit!" has similar uses to "D'oh!"
