Floorball is an fascinating new
game being played across the world, especially in
European and
American colleges and
universities. Played with a small
plastic ball and long
plastic sticks, it resembles
Ice Hockey when watched. Players argue for the many differences between
Ice Hockey and
floorball, explaining that
floorball requires less
brawn and more
brains than
Ice Hockey. Over the years, this
team sport has been gaining a large amount of popularity among the
young people of
America and
Europe, and even such
American colleges as
Caltech have
floorball teams.
Even more expressive of the growing popularity of this simple
game are the aspirations of the
International Floorball Foundation (IFF) to gain recognition of floorball as an
Olympic sport by the year 2020. It will be very interesting to see this ever-more-popular sport gain the most honorable recognition by being instated into the
ancient Olympic Games.
