A popular (if boring) screen saver. White dots of various sizes appear at some distance from the center of the computer screen and then move radially away at some speed, accelerating so as to give the impression of being on the bridge of a starship traveling at some unimaginably large multiple of the speed of light yet experiencing no relativistic (or, for that matter, Doppler) effects.

A student computer lab at midnight. The lights are off. Dozens of identical PCs, lined up like ducks, slumbering peacefully with their screen savers running. The low hiss of central air; the reassuring steady hum of the Liebert. All is at peace.
