A buzzword describing the branch of e-commerce conducted through mobile devices such as WAP-enabled phones, PDAs with a wireless connection, etc.
As kamamer shows, this word has been around since at least mid-2000; it appeared in print in the November 7, 2000 issue of PC Magazine (and probably earlier). It has yet, as of October 2000, to become as recognizable and ubiquitous as "e-commerce".
