It has been repeatedly
brought to my attention that the word 'prelim' as a
noun refers to some kind of
medical exam. Well
I'm here to share with you the joy of using this word as a verb to
achieve an entirely different meaning.
Where I come from, to "prelim" is to start
partying
a little earlier than when your 'plans' for that evening are sup
posed to take place. In other words,
starting to get fucked up in
anticipation of going somewhere else to get all
fucked up. As used in this
nifty little dialogue:

joe: What time are you goin to that
party tonight?
~
me-: Well not until like 12. We're all
prelimin' at
my crib, why don't you just
come over here? and bring some of that
light green crippy you been talkin so much about.
