They eat NOTHING until they have strewn salt overtop of it. "There's not enough flavor", they complain of any foodstuff with flavor more subtle than a salt lick.
"did you add any salt to this?" Well, it's not salt-encrusted or anything, but of course I put salt in it! Can you not taste it? Perhaps if your tastebuds weren't scorched by 20 years of overly salty food, you could tell!
oh well, I guess there's just no accounting for taste...
