Spatial puzzles are a class of puzzles where the object is to get a group of pieces arranged.

There are several subclasses, including

  • jigsaw puzzles, usually cardstock; art divided into small pieces
  • burr puzzles, usually wood; 3d bits that must be assembled in a very specific order to make a sculpture
  • tangle puzzles, usually metal elements like spikes, horseshoes, chains, sometimes rope; two or more parts that must be manipulated to untangle or re-tangle.
