Inside every drop of snot,

is a tear,

but it is no romantic bead,

signaling catharsis as it rolls,

hot down a trembling cheek.

It is part of a homogenous colloid,

when blown from your nose

(or hacked up to the street),

and it is mixed with

immunoglobes and enzymes,

dispersed among these things.

But the tears are there,

found in snot's salty taste.

And when you blow your nose

or spit into the toilet,

I am glad for it,

your body doing

what you do not.
