Short for tenor drums, tenors are percussion instruments that consist of 4-6 small single-headed drums of various sizes that are mounted on a frame so that a person can carry them in a marching band or drum corps. The 5th and 6th drums are called spot drums and are tiny and high-pitched. In all-male drum corps, the guys sometimes play the spot drums in a way only guys can with their unique anatomies.
