Total bases is a baseball statistic. It is calculated by adding the number of singles a player hits, plus two times the number of doubles, plus three times the number of triples, plus four time the number of home runs. Official abbreviation for total bases is 'TB'.

Formula: TB = Hits + Doubles + 2 * Triples + 3 * Home runs

Total bases is important for calculating a number of different baseball stats, including slugging percentage.
