A hysterically funny book by James Stevenson about the witch Emma (about whom James Stevenson has written various other books) and her struggles to prove to the other witches that she is not a complete failure as a witch. In this book she and her friends manage to disgust even the meanest of the other witches while creating a "potion" full of all sorts of disgustingly amusing ingredients. The story ends with a delightful twist, and is a really fun book to read aloud to children.

Unfortunately I just discovered by looking it up on Amazon.com that it is out of print, but you should be able to find it at a library.
