A Chicago based company which was created to make 3 dimensional cartoons geared towards teaching children Sunday morning values.

Big Idea was co-founded by Paul Vischer and Mike Nawrocki. They started off making a cartoon titled VeggieTales. I'd assume that they chose vegetables because of the simplicity of the shapes. I say this because the first few episodes were fairly crude in technique. However they soon made enough money to hire some of the best animators in the business, giving their videos a very unique and expert appearance.

Once VeggieTales was well established, they moved on to a new series, 3-2-1 Penguins which has more complex character models, and have recently ventured into ventured into the 2-D animation world with their VeggieTales spin-off, Larry Boy.

They have also released a full length VeggieTales movie, Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie
