The goth boots heading must also include motorcycle boots:

• Also called "engineer boots"
  
• Usually come halfway between the ankle and the knee
  
• Characterized by a strap and/or buckle at the ankle and at the top of the boot.
  
• Some varieties of motorcycle boot have this nifty round O-ring on both sides of the foot, to which several straps attatch.
  
• No particular group of goths seem to wear these boots with any consistency; they seem to be a good all-around boot. Wear 'em with lots of leather and you've got gothic punk; wear 'em with a waistcoat and you've got NeoVictorian!
