The Fruit Jar Drinkers was a group formed by
Uncle Dave Macon in 1926. Their style was that of ragged harmonies (think Mick Jagger). They were a big hit on the
Grand Ole Opry, in Nashville, Tennessee for years. Their song's include; “
Take Me Back to My Old Carolina Home” , “
Keep My Skillet Good and Greasy” , and “
Chewing Gum.”
