Part of my E2 Secret Santa gift from Saige was a bag full (well, full minus 2 for quality control purposes) of these scrump-dili-icious Chocolate Snickerdoodle cookies. Saige also included the recipe. The gift that keeps on giving!
Normally, I'm a pretty selfish bastard, but today I feel generous. Why keep something this tasty all to myself? Here is the recipe, which Saige claims did not originate with her.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Combine 2 cups sugar, butter/margarine, vanilla, and eggs, and mix well.
Stir in cocoa, flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt, and blend well. The dough should be firm, but soft. If it's sticky, add moreflour, a little at a time, until it's no longer sticky.
Shape dough into 1 inch balls.
Combine the cinnamon and the 2 tablespoons of sugar in a bowl, and mix. Roll the dough balls in the mix, and place on baking sheet.
Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
Makes about two dozen (minus the two for quality control purposes, of course).
These things exhibit that special kind of tastiness that can make a taciturn, burly man giggle. Kneel before their power.
