Hi!

"When I was a child I played Subbuteo on...
my table then I graduate to Studio One."

I'm a 21 year old male from the United Kingdom. I stumbled on Everything2 after following a link from CowboyNeal's homepage. I just graduated and I'm currently looking for a job as a software developer, and would proudly call myself a geek although I don't spend too much time with computers and in fact used to hate them. I do adore Linux though.

I hate TV, except Eastenders, Oz, The Sopranos, and The Simpsons. I much prefer books (read Catch-22!), music (I was once a huge Pavement fan), good films (particularly European ones like The 400 Blows, and La Dolce Vita), and football.

I'm thinking about getting into bodyboarding, as my parents recently bought a house in Wales near the beach, and I am getting fat with all this sitting in front of computers.

MintyBoy is what my sister calls me, it's derived from my real name Martin.

A Little Tale Involving MintyBoy and BadlyDrawnBoy

During my degree I wasn't that great at studying so I inevitably had to resit a few modules once the year was out. These resits took place at the end of August and meant I had to travel down to my university for the day and get a little stressed out in the process.

I was quite early for my exam one day so I decided to take a trip around the block to kill some time and clear my head. Nearing the end of this trip, I noticed a bill posted on a transformer box by the pavement. It was advertising a single by 'Badly Drawn Boy' entitled 'Once around the block'. This was 1999, quite a while before he took off, and at that moment I wished us both every success. The whole thing made me smile, not least because the event happened in Manchester in England, very much the home of Badly Drawn Boy.

Oh, I got my degree eventually.

Now for some subjective stuff which I can't put in write-ups
