A style of shorts worn by many an Australian ocker. Usually these very short pants are blue or green and made of cotton or similar material. They are a very casual form of clothing that are often accompanied by white singlets.

The odds of walking into an Australian pub or RSL club and finding less than three people in the traditional ruggers, singlet and thongs are very small, especially in rural areas.

It is likely the name "ruggers" came from "rugger" -- a person who plays Rugby (in which "ruggers" are worn).
