You do realise that a large part of the Unabomber's argument is that it is nobler to struggle to survive than to have survival all sorted, and therefore to struggle to find something good on TV?
You could always stop being a couch potato and emigrate to Somalia if you wanted to. Do you? Thought not. You see, whilst we may as a species evolve to be smarter and tougher under conditions of adversity, this is done by weeding out the weak. Actually it's pretty random, but it favours the weak by a small but statistically significant margin.
The good of the individual is not the good of the species.
