"Fixed" can also describe an event where the outcome is predetermined - usually as the result of one or more parties cheating. For example, in the "sport" of professional wrestling, every match is "fixed" - the outcome of the match is set in advance in order to try to maximize viewer ratings. It was very common for horse races to be fixed in the 1930's for the benefit of the mob. The winner of such a race was a "shoo-in". By placing large bets on the "shoo-in" the criminals could launder large sums of money with little risk.

Fixed is also slang for the neutering or spaying of pets.
