In
Russian, they also say "Kiss kiss" (pronounced more like "kssss ksss", which probably attracts the
cat because of the
noise, just like when you
drag a piece of paper on a string on the floor). A cat in
Russian is "Koshka" (
female) or "Kot" (
male), but "kissa" (like "kitty") can also be used as the "
kinder version of the word".
In
Hebrew, they sometimes use "Pssss psssss" which probably attracts the cat because of the same reason.
