In
Virginia, the
Tidewater area is generally defined as south
Hampton Roads, consisting of the cities of
Norfolk,
Portsmouth,
Chesapeake,
Virginia Beach, and
Suffolk.
Some people use "Tidewater" to refer to the entire Hampton Roads area, though. I guess it's personal preference.
