The
mall scenes in
Mallrats were actually filmed in the
Eden Prairie Center in
Eden Prairie, MN. It's a
pretty nice mall, but not many people go there due to its nearness to the
Mall of America and other malls, which probably made it a great place to film a movie.
Another small piece of
trivia: in
Chasing Amy,
Alyssa (
Joey Lauren Adams) mentions
Eden Prairie in a conversation with
Holden (
Ben Affleck), and as far as I know, there is no
Eden Prairie, NJ.
