Cubic
Feet per
Minute, a measurement of
volumetric
flow rate. Many
electrical and
mechanical blowers and
fans are rated as to the number of cubic feet of
air (or other
fluid) they can move in a
minute. If you have the diameter of the fan, you can compute an approximate flow speed by
dividing the CFM rating by the fan's area. If you're a
1337 h^x0r type, you might be interested in the number of cubic feet of scorched air you can
suck out of your
case before your new
overclocked 2GHz
Celeron goes *
pop*. At any rate, CFM's the right unit for the job.
That's it.
Boring, I know.
