Type of construction that employs the use of larger-than-life blocks that are held in place by gravity and their extreme weight. These giant blocks are usualy refune or rough. Ancient near eastern cultures use this type of construction to scare foes with its enormous size and hide the structures with the natural look of of jagged rocks. It was given this name because the structures are so large a it would take a giant to make. In the Mycenaean culture this was combined with corbel type building methods with an offset pattern.
