circumlocution used by
those who feel uncomfortable saying the word, um, ``
nigger'', but feel the need to refer to it (you know,
the n word) for some reason.
One of those words (like ``faggot'') whose use by people within the
community to which it refers is almost always acceptable, and whose use by
people outside that community
is almost always unacceptable.
