(French: "butter dish", but with the connotation "cushy job")

Illustrated French weekly magazine, published 1911-1914, in imitation of the succesful German magazine Simplicissimus.

Each issue of L'Assiette au Beurre was built around a theme, and featured high-quality picture reproductions of political and satirical cartoons, by artists such as Caran d'Ache, Jules Chéret, and Félix Vallotton.
