Peruvians are referred to by several other names throughout the
world, some of them may be pejorative, annoying, or insulting to some.
The list below (including the regions, departments, and cities) is
provided for completeness only, and intends no disrespect to anyone. Words in emphasis are Spanish. Keep in mind that in Spanish, demonyms (genticilios) are never capitalized.
Other Names - criollo (slang, only within Peru), perucho (diminuitive, demeaning if used by a foreigner)

Arequipa - Arequipeño
Callao - Chalaco
Cajamarca - Cajamarquino
Ica - Iqueño
Lambayeque - Lambayequino
La Libertad - Liberteño
Lima - Limeño, Limenian, capitalino
Piura - Piurano
Moquegua - Moqueguano
Tacna - Tacneño
Tumbes - Tumbecino
Mountain, Sierra region, - de la sierra, cholo (sometimes pejorative), serrano (highly pejorative)
Jungle, selva region - del oriente, selvático, de la selva, charapa (a type of turtle, pejorative)
