Greek words for love (thing)

The Greek language used three different words for "love", all of which are generally translated as "love". This sometimes makes translations difficult, especially in the Epistles and Gospels of the New Testament. But it also reveals a bit of a deficiency of the English language that we use only one word to mean any or all of the Greek words.

The words are:

• philos
• agape
• eros
