New Years Eve ended up being one of the best ever, even though I *still* didn't have anyone to kiss at midnight. But then, when you're tripping on acid, you tend to let things like that slide right by, because there are much more fascinating things begging for your attention...like Pikachu.

I have in my possession a Pikachu spin-pop. For those of you who don't know, a spin-pop is a battery operated toy that usually has some kind of figure mounted on a stick, with a hole in the top of it for a lollipop. When you press a button, the pop spins, thereby removing any effort from the act of sucking a lollipop. They're pretty cool toys, and they're even more fun when you're frying:

Me:"Hey, check out my Pikachu."
David:"Heeheh, he's cool."
Me:"Did you know Pikachu loves to get into staring contests?"
David:"Yeah, sure he does."
Me:"Seriously, if you watch him, you'll see he never blinks. (hands Pikachu to David) But when he does blink, it's really cute. So you have to watch him and make sure he doesn't blink, and if you blink, you'll miss it."

And that's all there is to it. I actually managed to get three people into staring contests with Pikachu, one of them for almost 5 minutes. Then again, she also had a conversation with a balloon that night too. For the rest of the night, she kept shouting "Pikachu's a bitch!" whenever I walked by.

Ah, the simple pleasures of life.
